Sex In The Country… Week 3… Day 1

I choose you!

Remember standing on the playground ball field as team are getting chosen for kickball. We all had one over riding thought. Please do not pick me last.

There is a lot of pressure to have a date, be loved or get married. Maybe you remember waving your hand like crazy for Show and Tell in school, or waiting during Valentines Day for a valentine. It’s hard to wait to be picked.

Sooner or later you’ll get picked by someone. I believe that it is time to turn that factor around. What if you determined, that based on who you are, and what you expect from life and love, that you will be the picker, not the pickee. In other words, based on the fact that God chose you to be his great love, shouldn’t you decide to pick your loves based on that. Here is what God’s says about choosing and being chosen.

2 Thessalonians 2 13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachingsb we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. 16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Based on that information, answer the next few questions. 1. What type of person would you choose to be your husband or wife by writing down a characteristic you would choose in each area? a. Spiritual

b. Physical (be specific… tall, dark curly hair etc…)

c. Mind (Is intelligence important? Grades? The way they spend their time)

d. Disciplines (physical, work ethic, etc…)

  1. Now evaluate if you are the type of person that will win them over?

  2. What’s lacking in your life for you to choose and win them?

  3. Come up with a plan of becoming that person.
